We wanted to imagine a line fo Smencils for slightly older kids.I suggested the theme of mythical creatures thinking it could be fairly gender neutral and also thinking it could be a great way to include diverse cultures.
A few sketches of the concepts. These were done on paper as well as on my ipad using Procreate, then translated into vectors.
Final vector versions. Ten scented Smencils so 10 mythical creatures. They are: The Nokk of Scandinavian mythology, the Yeti, the Japanese Kitsune, a fairy, the Wyvern, a phoenix, a Djinn (or Genie), the classic unicorn, a werewolf, and a winged lion.
I designed the wraps for the pencils and assigned scents to each creature.
The Mythical Smencils would be sold in 10 packs so I designed the packaging as well. They are picture here along with a display that holds 10.
Scentco originally had a line of "Birthday Smencils" all scented as chocolate cupcake. We were looking for more sweet scents and upgraded designs. I always try to insert different animals into my designs so based off of the random creatures I chose, I came up with the name of "Party Animals."
